Crossover (Reebok Question)
Allen Iverson aka A.I. aka The Question aka The Answer aka The Hall of famer Allen Iverson. Arguably one of the greatest, if not the toughest guards to every play in the NBA, and his shoes matched that toughness.
In 1996, Allen Iverson was the first overall pick in the 1996 NBA draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. Philly is known to be a hard working blue collar town; little did they know a kid from Virginia was going to emulate that same hard work and toughness in any NBA arena night in and night out. Coming out of Georgetown after two years, there were questions about his size and toughness, but not about his willingness to, dare I say it, practice (different subject for another time, maybe). Regardless, A.I. signed a sneaker deal with Reebok - the same company that had Shaq now had Allen Iverson.
Reebok Question
The Questions were bold, they were bulky, they embodied 1996, and A.I. crossed up the great Michael Jordan in them. It was and is a dope sneaker, it has pretty much everything you would want in a basketball shoe. Full leather upper, secure lacing system, advanced cushion system (advanced for 1996), and traction that worked, plus the shoe looked nice. In 2016, Reebok did a series of colorways for "The Question" 20th year anniversary, releasing 20 different variations of the iconic model. I, for one, was only interested in these two colors: red toe and the pearlized blue toe. Some of these shoes are still available off Reebok's website.
I personally would love to see Reebok retro his earlier sneakers. More specifically, the white and red Answer 1, black and white Answer 2, and white and red Answer 3. There were reports of an Answer 3 retro for summer of 2015, but unfortunately Reebok never released them.
