A funked out bass line with quite possibly one of the catchiest hooks in R&B history. Every Saturday when I run my errands I always find myself playing Maxwell in the morning. I'l have it on repeat from the time I cook my breakfast to the time I arrive to my haircut appointment. "Ascension (Don't Ever Wonder)" is always stuck in my head on the weekends.

Maxwell is a perennial favorite and timeless classics will keep his lyrics stuck in my head. These are the types of songs that create a mood to cultivate and inspire. Music that makes you feel good, without having to feel guilty about it. There's no club that'll play classics like Maxwell or D'Angelo or even Craig David, but I guarantee you at any wedding or house party if those songs come in, the seats will be empty and the dance floor will be flooded.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate and respect the new trend of music as it grows and develops, but I still believe there's treasures that can't be buried. There's a reason the greatest DJs and MCs sample old school and flip it into modern style.

Maxwell's Urban Hang Suite is the type of album that'll throw into that feel good vibe.
